Day 41 Lakeville CT. to East Windsor CT. Today

crawdad
Today was a 55 mile ride, but the forecast was for rain and cold temperatures and they were right. It was 49 degrees and wet when the riders left this morning. Approx 10 riders opted not to ride, including me, and I rode in the Silver Sheep's (Dori,Diana,Sherry) van to East Windsor. We had lovely breakfast at the Country Diner in Enfield and on the walls were hundreds of police patches in large glass frames around the restaurant walls. The owner of the restaurant is a retired cop and people bring police patches in to add to the collection. After eating, I was walking back to the car when I heard some people who said there is a lobster crawling around where they were standing. I grabbed my camera and was ready for an exciting picture and discovered it was a craw dad. These people had never seen a craw dad before.
Gail said her ride was very cold and temps reached 43 degrees and she could see her breath. The rain continued most of the day and nothing exciting to report. The pictures are from today and yesterday, crossing the Hudson on a beautiful walkway in the morning.
