The roads are good and long stretches open farm land with corn, rye, and beef. We see lots of turkey vultures, because of the numerous road kill. Yesterday we passed a live snake and I warned everyone and some riders tried to take a picture, but the snake slithered away. Gail and I are feeling fine, but the saddle issue is still a problem. I use the gel pad at some point during the day, just to give my a bottom a rest. The weather has been cool and humidity has been manageable,so that is good.

Day 11 Glennville to Statesboro,GA
Today's ride was suppose to be 47 miles, but we got a bit lost twice, but only added 3 miles. A few days ago,the guide warned us about loose dogs, and sure enough one of the riders was bit by a dog. Not serious enough for medical care, but today gail had 2 dogs come for her and she blew her whistle and it worked. I had a brown dog come for three of us,not Gail, and we used our mean voices to get the dog to back off and he did. We had this problem 2 years ago on the last trip, particularly in the southern states. The route was very pretty, but I did take pictures of the logging done here and these trees are used for telephone poles. We didn't eat lunch until after we arrived in Statesboro and had a great Chinese meal next to the hotel. Dinner last night was pulled pork, cornbread, coldslaw, black eye peas and greens, and blueberry cobbler.
