Day 19 Carolina Beach to Surf City

Today was a 53 mile ride with the threat of Tropical Storm "Anna" hanging over are heads all day. The wind had changed to tailwind and was great for 15 miles, but it changed all day as well as how much rain fell. Not everyone rode today, but It was a challenge to see just what these storms are like. We made good time and saw so many snakes, dead and alive, that we couldn't always stay in the bike lane.
We are now in Surf City and it is so small, that it is not on the weather channel. But we have a day off now and that is always good.
I had done another blog on the iPhone with pictures for today and I don't know if it will publish, but if you see  2 blogs for the same day, that is why. The WiFi has been a challenge all our trip. Dinner last night was pulled pork, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad, birthday cake for one of the riders.
Gail did want me to mention that we did have lunch today at Buddy's in Surf City and Gail loves grill cheese sandwiches. But it is only on the kid's menu and the waitress at first said it couldn't be served to an adult. Gail her best quivering lip impression and said it's Mothers Day and this is my only wish. The waitress worked her magic and the grill cheese appeared.
