Day 28 Richmond, VA to Fredericksburg, VA 73 miles

The climbing has begun! We were told it would be about 2500 ft total ascent. My Garmin showed 2953! It registered 2 decent hills one at 12% and a respectable 16%! Now to be fair it was a beautiful ride with these no peddle zones. You just sat back through fabulous wooded areas and the bike did the work. Perfect riding conditions in the shaded areas. A bit on the hot side without the shade. The end of the ride was through city conditions. Marilyn and I were at the final turn into the hotel when we heard this huge almost shot sound! We rode into the hotel to find that her tire had blown! How lucky we were to be at the hotel and also not riding! Lucky Marilyn! We're hoping for cooler weather tomorrow.
