Day 24 Elizabeth City, NC to Suffolk, VA 65 miles

Pretty View

Huge bull. But he seems very nice and calm

Today was our last day in NC, Margarita party! We can now celebrate arriving in VA and riding more than 1/2 of the distance to Bar Harbor, ME! It's hard to believe.

View of our sag car across a wheat field

Today's ride was very pretty. We rode by many different types of wheat and sage fields. There were fields and fields of the sage which right now is a beautiful shade of pink. The temperature was perfect and wind was very mild for the most part. Since we were on back country roads there were no services for food or water. Our sag driver met us 3 times to be sure all had enough water. We had all packed enough food for a lunch and snacks.

  2. It sounds like even I could ride these last few days - pretty views, cooler weather, & no rain! Glad it is finally better for you. And Yea Wendy! I see you posted on May is Bike Month, and your mileage crushed us all - 1,345 in 16 days! And I have all of 198. Had our community ride today, and I think there were between 15 and 20 that came for the ride. I think we will get a few new members from this group. Have a wonderful trip. John M
